About our Bali Single Origin

Indulging in a cup of our single origin coffee from Bali is a sensory journey, with each sip revealing layers of dark chocolate, molasses, and brown sugar. The distinct tasting profile is a testament to the dedication of the smallholder farmers from Kintamani who meticulously cultivate these exceptional coffee beans.

One of the key aspects that sets these Bali farmers apart is its commitment to organic farming practices. The fertile volcanic loam soil provides the perfect foundation for the coffee plants to flourish without the use of chemical fertilizers.

This sustainable approach not only preserves the natural environment but also enhances the purity and integrity of the coffee.

The coffee beans undergo a meticulous process, starting with hand-picking by skilled farmers. After harvesting, the wet-hulling method is employed, followed by careful drying on raised beds. This process ensures that the beans maintain their distinct characteristics, resulting in a cup of coffee that embodies the essence of Bali.

The Farmers of Bali Coffees

Our Bali Single Origin coffee is one of the bestsellers, and with great reason. The Kintamani region is lush and fertile, and truly magical with it’s volcanic soil and elevation.
We do work with quite a few farms in Bali, among them is a great story in Bali Beans, that we wanted to share because it is a place you can visit!

But note that Bali Beans is more than just a great coffee farm; it is a testament to family legacy and the pursuit of excellence. Originally established by a husband and wife team in the 1980s, the farm has been rejuvenated by their children in recent years.

With complete control over the entire coffee production process, from cultivation to roasting and selling, Bali Beans aims to showcase the unique flavor and quality of Bali coffee to the world.

Visiting Bali Beans is not just a coffee experience; it is an opportunity to immerse oneself in the treasures of Bali and witness firsthand the significance of sustainable farming practices. As part of the traditional group "Subak Abian," Bali Beans is deeply rooted in the local farming community.

The farm embraces the cooperative spirit, sharing knowledge and experiences to perfect the art of coffee growing in an environmentally friendly, chemical-free manner.

For coffee enthusiasts seeking to explore the rich coffee culture of Bali, Bali Beans is a must-visit destination. It is a place where passion, tradition, and sustainability converge, offering an authentic glimpse into the world of Bali coffee.

It's not just great coffee...

Bali Beans offers truly great experiences beyond tours, too. Barista boot camps, farm to cup experiences, you can really spend a whole vacation just there (but who are we kidding, Bali has some of the best beaches around) but—if you are going to Bali, it’s a great place to visit and explore.

From their website, they say “Not only do we have the perfect altitude, coupled with excellent weather and volcanic soil conditions for premium arabica coffee plants to grow, but at Bali Beans we also focus on growing coffee in the most environmentally friendly way in natural tree shaded plantations without the use of any chemicals.

This is in keeping with the Balinese philosophy of ‘Tri Hita Karana’ (3 principles – harmony amongst people, harmony with nature, harmony with god). We are constantly proving that we can stay traditional in our beliefs and the way we protect our environment, while being innovative in the way we grow and harvest our beans, that are perfect for modern brewing techniques.”
